Sellers Agent or Buyers Agent

Huh?
When you purchase Real Estate you see a Realtor. So this Realtor is working for you, right? Actually, the answer to that question is sometimes.

In real estate there are Buyers Agents, Sellers Agents and Dual Agents. If you are out shopping for land or a home and stop in a Real Estate office and ask to see some listings, you'll probably be talking to a Sellers Agent, the Realtor who has the listings he or she is showing you. If you decide you don't have time to look through all the listings and want someone to find your perfect property for you, you might hire a Buyers Agent. And Dual Agents....

Where Should I Purchase Land?

Once you decide you'd like to buy land as both and investment and for recreation - where do you buy it?

But the second one isn't as easy - Wisconsin is a big state. What county should you look into? How will you know if this property is right for you?

First ask yourself this question: What will I use the property for? ATV/snowmobile riding? Hunting, fishing and camping? A vacation cabin or retirement home? This will help you and us narrow down your selection to properties that fit your needs.

Second, how much money am I willing to spend? This will also narrow down your selection of available properties.

Then, what ammenities do I want to have? Close to big city or small village? Near shopping or hospitals? Cable TV and internet service?

And how far do I want to drive from my home? If this is a vacation or recreation site, travel time may impact how often you use the property.

You're next stop will be travel and tourism sites. You can find a list of them here. See which counties and cities offer the activities you enjoy.

Lastly, take a weekend or two (or more) to get out and see the areas you are interested in and visit some properties. Check out the local scene and the local scenery. Then you will know where to purchase your property.
