Army Lieutenant James Des Jardins was finally laid to rest Sunday, nearly 70 years after his plane went missing during WWII.
The then 21 year old was serving in Germany and was reported missing to his family just after Christmas in 1944. The wreckage from his plane and his remains were discovered a month ago by a dregging crew and returned to Green Bay. The Lieutenant was buried with full military honors at Fort Howard Cemetary with a large crowd of extended family and WWII Veterans in attendance.
